Why Join the UCIRA?
UCIRA's focus is to provide fun, social, and educational activities for all, which in the past, has included lectures, cooking classes, hikes, bike rides, bus tours, on- and off-campus events. Your membership supports these activities as well as our contributions to the Staff Assembly Scholarship fund and our new student Legacy Scholarships. Additionally, for some events, UCIRA members receive priority registration and discount fees. Currently, all paid members receive complimentary parking (not available to those in any paid capacity with UCI per the applicable guidelines found here: LINK) on the UCI campus through the Emeritus-Retiree Pilot Parking program and will continue to do so if the program continues.
The UCIRA co-sponsors and often helps with CER activities. Equally important, the UCIRA provides representation on UC systemwide committees regarding all continuing UC retiree benefits through the Council of University of California Retirees Association (CUCRA). CUCRA provides representation from each UC campus and laboratory to advocate for all UC retirees. We are fighting for the continuation of ALL our benefits at the current levels.
